The Medical and Health Workers
Union in Katsina have demanded the immediate restoration of their suspended
Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) and settlement of their seven
months of salary arrears.
Daily Trust reports
that the state government reverted all health workers salary to the Harmonise
Public Service Salary structure (HAPSS) following an audit to determine those
eligible to participate in the scheme.
At a press conference yesterday, the chairman of the
union, Comrade Hussaini Hamisu said the union had endured enough as no state in
the nation had ever tempered with the salary structures of any categories of
the civil servant.
