KATSINA: WE WILL DEFEAT APC IN 2019, SAYS APGA

Katsina State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has boasted that it will defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in 2019. APGA said APC was engaging in “unpopular policies and programmes”. The APGA national financial secretary, Ibrahim Garba Care for, told Daily Trust, that the APC government in Katsina was too slow in bringing development to both urban and rural areas. The official insisted that APGA was not regional party but one accepted across the country. “Our party will no longer accept what has been happening within the electoral umpire, where elections are rigged in favour of the ruling party. “The APC government in Katsina has an unpopular strategy, agricultural development amongst many others”, he said. He said his party had a clear-cut manifesto that addressed the issues of women, youth, infrastructural and community development unlike other political parties. Carefor, however, said the party

Samsung might launch bigger Galaxy S8 'Plus' to win back Galaxy Note 7 fans

A report indicated earlier this week that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 will come in two sizes, both featuring full-screen designs with curved displays measuring 5.7-inch and 6.2 -inch. Samsung can increase the size of the display without increasing the size of the phone by removing the top and bottom bezels, which is also a design change that's reportedly in the works for the upcoming Galaxy S phone. But why is Samsung making a 6.2-inch version of the Galaxy S8? A new report claims that Samsung is looking to offer the Galaxy S8 in two distinct sizes to win back some of the customers that wanted to buy a Galaxy Note 7 phablet. The Investor notes the same new display sizes for the upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone, including 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch. "In order to attract potential Note consumers who prefer a large screen, Samsung has decided to adopt bigger screens for both new models of the S8," an unnamed analyst said. Comparatively, the Galaxy S7 an

NO FLY-ZONE OVER TRUMP TOWER

Donald Trump is getting a massive security blanket, courtesy of the FAA ... so the NYC building where he lives and works does not fall victim to terrorists flying airplanes. Pilots have been ordered to stay clear of the 58-story building on 5th Ave. The FAA has deemed a 2-nautical mile radius a protected area. We're told the FAA imposed the restriction almost immediately after Trump was declared the winner. No doubt the tragedy down the road on Sept. 11, 2001 weighed in on the FAA's decision. The restrictions apply until January 21, 2017, the day after Inauguration. Same goes for Veep Mike Pence's home in Indiana ... there's now a 1-nautical mile radius airspace restriction. And something else is in play. Trump has his own Boeing 757 ... something out of financial reach of most President-elects. The FAA and Secret Service are managing restrictions for Trump's plane during takeoff, flight and landing ... but the restrictions are secret.

Low vitamin D linked with higher asthma risk

People who don't get enough vitamin D may be at increased risk for asthma, a new study suggests. In the study, researchers analyzed information collected from more than 25,000 adults ages 18 to 79, and more than 9,700 children ages 6 to 17, who took part in a yearly U.S. national health survey conducted between 2001 and 2010.  The participants were asked whether they had been diagnosed with asthma or experienced wheezing (a symptom of asthma) in the past year. The participants also had a test to determine the level of vitamin D in their blood. Overall, of the study participants, 68 percent of the children and 70 percent of the adults had levels of vitamin D that were lower than what's usually considered adequate for healthy people (30 nanograms per milliliter), which is known as vitamin D insufficiency. In addition, about 1,200 children and 1,800 adults had been diagnosed with asthma.  The disease involves inflammation and a narrowing of the airways, bo

ISIS: Donald Trump is a fool and would destroy America himself

Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has slammed the victory of Donald Trump in the just concluded election saying he is a fool and would destroy America himself thereby giving Jihadis opportunity to seize power. They went on to refer to him as a donkey saying he is "an indication of the end of the American empire". "What we want is their country be delivered to a donkey like Trump who will destroy it. In the end, they are all our enemies and we will only meet them on the battlefields. It is either them or us. We ask Allah to make their destruction caused by their own plans and their death come among themselves. The world is going to experience a change and this change will put Islam in the leadership position as the end result" One ISIS Jihad said. CREDIT: lindaIkeji

[Carlos Barria/Reuters] Hillary Clinton, the defeated Democratic candidate for US president, has pledged to work with president-elect Donald Trump to unite a divided United States in an emotional concession speech. "Last night I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country," she said in New York before noon on Wednesday, joined by her husband, former President Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea. "I hope he will be a successful president for all Americans."
