Priest who converted to Islam tells his reason

''Teaching about Islam taught me many things. I enjoyed being a priest helping the people for some years. However, deep inside I was not happy and I felt that there was something not right. Fortunately, and it is God’s will, some events and coincidences in my life led me to Islam. I used to think of Egypt as a country of Pyramids, camels, sand and palm trees. I actually took a charter flight to Hurghada. Shocked to find it similar to some European beaches, I took the first bus to Cairo where I spent the most wonderful week in my life. This was my first introduction to Muslims and Islam. I noticed how Egyptians are such gentle, sweet people, but also very strong. Like all Britons, my knowledge about Muslims up to that time didn’t exceed what I heard from the TV about suicide bombers and fighters, which gave the impression that Islam is a religion of troubles. However, getting into Cairo I discovered how beautiful this religion is. Very simple people selling goods o...

TuFace Idibia Cancels Nationwide Protest Against The Nigerian Government

Ngerian hip-hop artist Innocent Idibia, better known as TuFace, has abandoned his much-hyped plan to lead a nationwide protest against the Nigerian government.  Mr. Idibia had said in several statements that his protest was to draw attention to the widespread suffering and deepening poverty in Nigeria. The musical artist, whose song, “African Queen,” earned him wide recognition in Africa and beyond, canceled his planned protest late Saturday evening, claiming that his decision was based on security fears that hoodlums might hijack the planned protest.  The musician’s statement echoed the sentiment of Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni and another release from the Nigerian Police headquarters. Mr. Owoseni had drawn criticism a few days ago when he threatened to arrest Mr. Idibia, asserting that police authorities had received intelligence that some hoodlums would seize the protest as an opportunity to unleash mayhem. After much criticism, ...

Pregnant Women Turn to Marijuana, Perhaps Harming Infants

During her  pregnancy , she never drank alcohol or had a cigarette. But nearly every day, Stacey, then 24, smoked marijuana. With her fiancĂ©’s blessing, she began taking a few puffs in her first trimester to quell  morning sickness  before going to work at a sandwich shop. When  sciatica  made it unbearable to stand during her 12-hour shifts, she discreetly vaped marijuana oil on her lunch break. “I wouldn’t necessarily say, ‘Go smoke a pound of pot when you’re pregnant,’” said Stacey, now a stay-at-home mother in Deltona, Fla., who asked that her full name be withheld because street-bought marijuana is illegal in Florida. “In moderation, it’s O.K.” Many pregnant women, particularly younger ones, seem to agree, a recent federal survey shows. As states legalize marijuana or its medical use, expectant mothers are taking it up in increasing numbers — another example of the many ways in which acceptance of marijuana has outstripped scientific u...

President Trump's likeness found on seized heroin envelopes

Scores of individually wrapped heroin packets seized during a Florida drug bust featured a certain famous likeness: that of President Donald Trump. The Tampa Bay Times reports (http://bit.ly/2l5n4wW) law enforcement officers seized the drugs Jan. 27 in Hernando County. Packets were stamped with not only Trump's image and name; others bore the names or likenesses of notorious Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman and Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar. Authorities couldn't explain the purpose of the markings. The drug bust netted a total of about 5,550 heroin doses. Police arrested 46-year-old Kelvin Scott Johnson on suspicion of heroin trafficking and other charges. He is being held on $75,000 bail. Authorities say Johnson came to their attention in May 2016, after the U.S. Postal Service intercepted a package containing heroin.  FOXNEWS
